Atlanta, GA —The EcoWomanist Institute Southeast (EWISE) is proud to announce that its signature program, Black Restorative Agriculture Incubation & Development (BRAID), has received top honors in the 2025 American Advertising Awards at the local, district, and national levels.
BRAID earned:
Gold (Local – Atlanta)
Elements of Advertising > Visual > Logo Design
Silver (District)
Elements of Advertising > Visual > Logo Design
National Recognition
Silver ADDY Award for Identity Design and the prestigious Mosaic ADDY Award
The Mosaic Award celebrates creative work that advances diversity, equity, and inclusion in advertising. Through the Mosaic Initiative, the American Advertising Federation recognizes organizations filling critical representation gaps and giving voice to historically excluded communities.
“The recognition of BRAID’s brand is an affirmation of what we’ve always believed—that beauty, culture, and justice are intertwined,” said Valerie Hill Rawls, Founder of EWISE. “This work is not just about visuals—it’s about visibility for Black women farmers and land stewards whose stories have too often gone unseen.”
BRAID’s award-winning identity reflects the heart of its mission: to restore and reimagine Black women’s relationship to land, agriculture, and environmental leadership. These honors represent not only a design achievement, but a milestone in the continued effort to center Black agrarian wisdom in narratives of justice and sustainability.
